  • The use of cheats or hacks  is prohibited.
  • Profane, racist, discourteous, defamatory, inflammatory, accusatory, offensive or sexually explicit language is prohibited.  This includes the use of acronyms or place holders as well as using the Lord's name in vain.  All persons on the server will be treated with respect at all times.
  • Ghosting is prohibited.
  • No use of 203's before 30 seconds have elapsed unless an opponent is visible.
  • All users must run Punkbuster.

  • Members and members of allied clans have priority for server access.  Should the server be full and a member or member of an allied clan desire to have access, a non-member will be asked to make room for the member.  Should non-member(s) refuse to leave, they may be kicked off the server to make room.

Ventrilo Rules

  • Profane, racist, discourteous, defamatory, inflammatory, accusatory, offensive or sexually explicit language is prohibited.
  • Courtesy and respect for others is to be practiced at all times.

  • Ghosting is prohibited.  Ghosting is defined as game-related communication by players not actively participating in game that gives an unfair advantage to those players still active in game.  Examples of ghosting are:
  • Giving the last known location of an opponent who “killed” you in game.
  • Giving the location you were “killed”.
  • Giving the location of weapons you were carrying or dropped after being “killed”.
  • Reminding remaining players of the time left in the round.
  • Telling remaining players the number of remaining opponents.
  •   Remaining in opposing team's channel without explicit permission of those present in the channel.

Violation of these rules will result in the following:
  • 1st offense  verbal warning
  • 2nd offense 1 Site warning and 48 hour suspension of vent privileges
  • 3rd offense 3 Site warning and 1 week suspension of vent privileges
  • 4th offense 5 Site warning and permanent ban from vent server.
Members observing violations of these policies should report the incident to an officer.  Be prepared to give names of others witnessing the behavior for verification.

Server Admin Guidelines

As one of our gaming server administrators, you have a special responsibility here at =BoC=.  You have control over something that introduces us to most who come visit us.  You have the ability to help form a guest's opinion of our clan.  Most who come visit our forums first meet us on our servers!  How our servers are run is an outward indication to those playing of what our clan stands for and what makes us what we are.  Because of this, we need to have specific guidelines for our server administrators to follow.  Failure to follow these guidelines could result in loss of server administrator status and yellow card warnings.

First of all, please be familiar with the server rules.  It is your responsibility to enforce these FAIRLY and EQUALLY.  This applies to members and guests alike.  No member should ever engage in conduct that we would not allow a guest to engage in.

Server Rules/Gaming Conduct
As a clan, it is our desire to run game servers and forums that are family friendly and safe for all people. Our members and guests are diverse in age and background. Because of this varying background and in order to accomplish this goal, the following rules and guidelines are in place.

1.  The use of cheats or hacks is prohibited.
2.  Profane, racist, discourteous, defamatory, inflammatory, accusatory, offensive or sexually explicit language is prohibited. This includes the use of acronyms or place holders as well as using the Lord's name in vain. All persons on the server will be treated with respect at all times.

Punkbuster Power

In an effort to enforce our server rules and make our servers a friendly place to play, all full members will be granted different levels of Punkbuster power in accordance with their ranks.

  • Members of Veteran Allied Clans in Good Standing - 25 points
  • Pvt.-SMC – 50 points
  • WO-Col – 75 points
  • General – 100 points
25 PB points will allow a member to kick an offending individual from the server for 5 minutes.  75 points will allow a member to kick and ban an offending individual from the server if absolutely necessary.  100 points allows all PB server actions.  Those with 100 points are also server player admins.

Use of Punkbuster Power
Care should be exercised in the use of PB power.  We do not wish to be known as the server who kicks everybody off for every little thing.  For rules violations, usually a simple warning or request to respect our rules will suffice.  Heavy-handed administrators make play less enjoyable for all and should be avoided if possible.  Players will receive at least 1 warning prior to any action being taken except in extreme cases.  For those times when a player insists on repeatedly breaking our server rules, they may be kicked from the server.

Guidelines for kicking players from the server:
  • A screenshot(s) is required for EVERY kick.  No exceptions.  You must have evidence of the reason for the kick or PB power may be suspended or revoked.   If you personally cannot take the screenshot, it is acceptable to have another clan member obtain it for you.
  • Ranking person on the server has responsibility for ensuring the rules are followed.  The ranking person should be the only one initiating a kick.  If they are unable to do so, they may delegate this responsibility to another member.
  • A player who repeatedly, flagrantly ignores the rules of the server may be banned by those with enough power to do so.  A member of the Command Council (BG rank or higher) should be notified if this occurs.  As with any kick, a screenshot (probably multiple in this case) is necessary.
  • Should it become necessary to kick a non-member due to a member or a member of an allied clan desiring to gain access to the server when the server is full, every effort should be made to ASK someone to leave for room.  Several requests should be made prior to kicking someone off the server.  Should all non-member players refuse to leave, the player who most recently joined should be notified that they are to be removed for space and then may be kicked from the server.  If it is unknown who the most recent player was who joined, the player with the lowest honor will be notified that they are to be removed for space and then may be kicked from the server.

=BoC= Past Member Re-Admittance Policy

Any =BoC= "past member in good standing", who wishes to return to the clan may do so, but must go through the application process and recruitment period.  However, after a period of one month in the position of private, the leadership of =BoC= may upon their discretion promote such member to the rank of their choosing in accordance with the needs of the clan.

Any =BoC= "past member not in good standing", who wishes to return to the clan may do so under a condition of probation of no less than 60 days, during which time, said member's conduct shall be assessed, by three leaders (PXO or higher), appointed by the General Council.  The restoration team shall be comprised of leaders who were not in his/her chain of command during their previous membership period, in order to promote objectivity.  At the end of the probation period the restoration team shall provide the General council with a recommendation for or against the re-admittance of the said individual into the clan and a briefing on their conduct during probation. He/She shall also be subject to immediate removal without appeal in the event of a violation of policy that is detrimental to the unity of the clan.  Minor infractions (Technical Violations) shall be subject to normal yellow card warnings, and may result in extension of probation.

Any =BoC= "ex-communicated past member” may not be re-admitted to =BoC=under any circumstances.

Definitions

Accept member in good standing" - member left =BoC= by their own choice with no outstanding disciplinary probation period.

Accept past member not in good standing" - member was removed from =BoC= due to misconduct or behavior that was detrimental to the clan and/or the member left by their own choice with a disciplinary probationary period in effect or while exhibiting conduct detrimental to the clan.

"ex-communicated past member - member who was removed under criminal or civil circumstances in which law enforcement authorities were involved.

AWOL

Policy and SOP for those Absent without leave (AWOL)

AWOL is defined as being absent for 30 days or more without submitting a request for a leave of absence, and receiving approval from your chain of command. Any approved leave of absence lasting longer than 30 days shall place the member in a reserve status until they return. A failure to return after a leave of absence without requesting an extension shall constitute a status of AWOL.

Because there are different responsibilities with rank, the disciplinary consequences are different for recruits, enlisted, and leaders.

Recruits
Any Recruit who goes AWOL for 30 days or more will be considered a deserter and be immediately separated from =BoC= membership.

Enlisted
Any Pvt. or higher ranking enlisted member who goes AWOL for 30 days or more shall be immediately subject to disciplinary action at the recommendation of the PCO and PXO up to and including demotion to lesser rank, suspension of kick privileges, and removal from a forums leadership or service role. An appeal may be made to the General's Council.

Leadership (PCOs, PXOs, WOs, SMCs, and Higher Ranking Officers)
Any Leader who goes AWOL for 30 days or more shall be immediately subject to disciplinary action at the discretion of the members Commanding Officer up to and including demotion to lesser rank, suspension of admin privileges, removal from a forums leadership or service role, and forced resignation of commission as an Officer or NCO. An appeal may be made to the General's Council only for extenuating circumstances.

Desertion by a Member

Any BoC member who goes AWOL for a period of 60 days will be considered a deserter and be automatically separated from =BoC= membership and all special privileges shall be revoked. A member who deserts will be placed into a status of "prior member not in good standing" and reapplication subject to policy accordingly. An appeal may be made to the General's Council only for extenuating circumstances.

Demotions

Just as promotions are a part of clan membership, demotions may occasionally be in order and will be issued by the members commanding officer. While Body of Christ gaming does not desire to demote anyone, under certain situations this may be necessary. Reasons for demotion include but are not limited to:
  • Inactivity for 1 month without requested leave
  • Insubordination
  • Failure to attend to duties
  • Conduct detrimental to the clan
  • Conduct unbecoming a member's rank
  • Repeated violation of policy
  • Receipt of 3 yellow cards in a 90 day period
The above list covers the most common reasons for demotion. There may be other reasons that are unanticipated. In these situations, the Officers and Generals Councils will have the final decision for demotion.

Upon receiving notice of demotion, a member shall have the opportunity for a review hearing if desired. If said member requests a review of the demotion, within 7 days following the issuance of notice of demotion, they shall submit a request in writing to the Chaplain, who shall act as an advocate for the member, requesting a review hearing. The Chaplain will advise the member on appropriate behavior and etiquette for the review hearing, but is not obligated to defend the member.  In the absence of the Chaplain, the member will submit the request for review to his/her commanding officer.  If a review hearing is not requested within the 7 day period following the notice of demotion, it will be assumed that the member does not wish to challenge the decision and the demotion shall stand.

If a review hearing is requested, the CMC shall convene a council consisting of a minimum of 2 but not more than 3 officers of not less than 2nd Lieutenant rank. The meeting with this council shall be recorded. The member will be allowed to tell why they feel the demotion is not warranted and the council members will be allowed the opportunity to ask clarifying questions. No decision will be rendered at this meeting. Following the meeting, the council members will make the recording available to the rest of the Officers and Generals Councils for review. The Officers and Generals Councils will discuss the demotion and the statements of the member and render a final decision no more than 7 days after the meeting with the member.
